RPM provides Energy Star testing and certification to help verify and recognize your commitment to energy efficiency. Energy Star certification is available for
new construction homes and major renovations.
The Energy Star Certification process is a comprehensive procedure that includes:

- Blower Door Testing

Energy Star Marketing Program
RPM offers various marketing services for developers building homes for resale or contractors looking to sell their clients on energy efficient upgrades. These can include on-site presentations, demonstrations and consultation to realtors and homeowners. |
Energy Modeling/Analysis
Using advanced RemRate modeling
software, backed by the U.S. Department
of Energy, we can calculate the
approximate energy costs of a home.
The software can also be used to
determine the effects of various energy efficient changes and, thus, determine
the return-on-investment associated with these changes. |
Blower Door Testing
A blower door test can pressurize or depressurize your house in order to measure the rate of air leakage and diagnose the cause of air leakage. This is important because the U.S. Department of Energy estimates that air-leakage accounts for up to 40% of the energy used for heating and cooling. |
Duct Blast Testing
A duct blast test measures the rate of air-leakage of ductwork and can determine if it meets prescriptive code requirements. Ductwork that leaks air outside the
envelope of the home (i.e. attics,
basements, crawl spaces) can
dramatically reduce the performance
of the heating/cooling system. The rated efficiency of a mechanical system is irrelevant if ductwork is too leaky; the integrity of the system is most important. |
Energy Audit
An Energy Audit is perfect for existing homes that are looking to identify specific areas of discomfort and energy deficiencies, or to address the entire house for energy conservation solutions. The Energy Audit consists of a basic consultation designed for information gathering and assessment. It will include a checklist and specific recommendations. It may lead to a recommendation for more extensive testing from one of the diagnostic services discussed. |
Thermal Imaging
Thermal imaging uses an infrared camera
to identify areas of thermal deficiency. |
Custom Energy Analysis Booklet
Compare the energy savings and ROI if your home were built to high-performance standards and to the same home built merely to code (using energy modeling software). The Energy Analysis Booklet can also demonstrate the payback period from various energy efficient upgrades. |
HVAC Sizing & Manual J Calculations
Proper sizing the heating/cooling system
is critical to designing not only an energy efficient home, but also a healthy and comfortable home. Manual J software is
used to correctly design the system. |
